City arms of Blaricum

This site, "Blaricum Past and Present," focuses primarily on Blaricum, specifically the old village with its characteristic rural character. It offers a brief overview of the history of the Gooi region. It also provides a brief overview of the history of the Erfgooiers (the people of Gooi).
The second part showcases the beauty of the village with its characteristic farms. There's a brief introduction to the features of the farms and haystacks, followed by a selection of recent and old photographs.
Old postcards are also displayed; hovering over a postcard changes it into a photo of the current situation. The postcards were provided by my brother-in-law, Co Vos, who owns a unique collection of postcards of Blaricum. My thanks also go to Martin van Doornik for providing old photographs and negatives, both of himself and his father.
Finally, you'll find a collection of links to websites that provide more information about the Gooi region, its villages, towns, and inhabitants.
Enjoy your visit,
Gerard Grootveld
